Noyz and Selena Dhillon created their two-track EP as an expression of strength and growth through adversity.

Inspired by nature, jazz, and boom bap ‘So Below’ is an exploration of the relationship with the self and with others by going beneath the surface to heal and rising above to connect with those who have experienced the same. With balance, the two lyricists walk through the seasons, the dark hours, the light, love, loss and triumphs as the music ultimately celebrates lessons learned.

Both friends and frequent collaborators, ‘So Below’ marks the first joint project by Noyz and Selena Dhillon and features production from Edmonton-based beatmaker tkdwn and Noyz himself. In their solo careers, the two have performed on stages across North America and the UK, and have been featured on notable platforms such as Noisey, The Huffington Post, TIFF, Complex, CBC Music, BBC Radio and GQ.

Track Name: For All Seasons (produced by tkdwn)
Summertime ‘97, Jordan with 5 titles
the same summer that Bret won it, we prize idols
and debate them with rivals over games of Griffey
throwing slang that we gained from Biggie
and playing Missy in my headphones
peddling past the blacktop
where the ball players would catch props
the backdrop’s full of kids who were developing fast
the last innocence left,
the world opened up in front of my steps
I press forward, Fall ‘17, never evergreen
mom grew a tumor and it blew up with a head of steam
stage 4, now we wage war, brace for the worst
that gave all the hurt and takes more
made sure that she raised from the base floor
learning to eat, learning to speak, learning to breathe
and through it all, never had the burden to grieve
and stayed strong through the turning of leaves
for all seasons

through all of the seasons
we go through hard times
live for the good days
learn from the cold nights

We buried him in the cold of February
in the loss of the physical, souls are never varying
I closed and I carried his casket
gathered the past into the mind, trying to battle attachment
my grandfather left us, before he body rested on the stretchers
already lost the mental, saw what death is
and so he died alone in his last few years
we know the ending but we never see the path too clear
so while we’re here, we all try to work through pain
was scared of love until I found one who hurts the same
where the rain pouring is warming the Spring from the Winter
acknowledging the bags that we bring when we enter
but trying to lighten the load
the bloom coming right from the rose
and both moving with life as it flows
and grow choosing to never let the reasons wane
by your side as the skies and the seasons change

all alone. winter came
built a fire to fuel my flame
planted seeds to bloom in spring
felt glory when summer came
i was shining shining shining
Track Name: True Colours (produced by Noyz)
in the dark
when i need light
true colours
shine so bright
i see them i see them
i see from afar
i see them i see them
i let go or hold on

dime a dozen fish in the sea
not everybody is worthy
of a lead in your story
pick them carefully
time will tell their integrity
observe their energy
beware of the ones who leech
who take more than they receive

When light fades, i find sight as
They're showing the colors that shine brightest
And like waves
i weather the storm
My light sees yours
And in life's detours
Where the lesson is drawn

i don’t trust when they get close quick
they always want something
take advantage
of my kindness
i’ve been naive
love is so blind
to the way they lie
mama told me once
mama told me twice
don’t bring them home
til their truth shows
no word is gold
words are not enough
judge their actions
conviction of their hugs
